History of our own country
Introduction
The aim of this proposal is to suggest which periods of history we should focus on and how we can display the presentation to make it interesting for the generation of students that’s going to see it.
The dynasty of Nemanjići
I suggest we make a significant portion of the presentation about the achievements of the Nemajići rulers because the foreign students tend to be unfamiliar with how long Serbia has been around for. Besides showing them information about the rulers and battles, we could also display models of items such as coins or clothes used back then so that visitors can see in more detail how Serbs lived almost one thousand years ago.
Period after the Turkish rule
Our focus should also be put on the origins of modern Serbia with the events of the nineteenth and twentieth century. The students would likely be interested to see how a nation, which was under Ottoman rule for almost five hundred years, managed to find its way to independence again. We could present that on an interactive timeline where students could see how some of the events are linked and what were the consequences of the decisions rulers of that time have made.
Conclusion
This would be an excellent way to show the students how long of a history our country has, and how proud of that history our people actually are. I hope these suggestions will help achieve the aim of the presentation and make the students interested in learning more about our country.
